What to bring
- Some form of identification.
- Your HMO or NHIS card, if you are covered — without it you may be asked to pay and claim back.
- Any medication you are taking. The packet is more useful than trying to remember the name.
- Any results, scans or referral letters from another hospital, if you have them.
If you are coming in an emergency, bring nothing and come now. None of the above is worth a delay.
Visiting someone
Visiting hours are 10am to 6pm, every day. The hospital itself never closes, but wards keep to visiting hours so patients can rest.
Cost and cover
Apex Health Hospital is NHIS accredited and accredited by private HMOs. An HMO inspects a facility before accrediting it, so it is a judgement made from outside rather than a claim we make about ourselves.
We do not publish a price list, because what a visit costs depends on what you need. Call and ask before you travel — we would rather tell you in advance than surprise you at the desk.
Common questions
Are you really open at night?
Yes. The hospital is open 24 hours a day, every day of the year, and there is a doctor on site at all times. You do not need to wait until morning.
Do you take my HMO?
We are NHIS accredited and accredited by private HMOs. There are many HMOs, so the safest thing is to call and ask about yours before you travel. Bring your card with you.
What are visiting hours?
Visiting hours are 10am to 6pm, every day.
Is the blood pressure check really free?
Yes. You do not need to be a patient, and there is no charge. If your reading is high we will tell you what to do next.
Where exactly are you?
House 1, Road 6, Unity Crescent, Akobo, Ibadan 200222, Oyo State. Opposite RCCG, Foodco Bus Stop. If you are coming by bus, that is the landmark to aim for.
What should I do in an emergency?
Call 0911 098 0503 or 0810 886 8750 — both are answered around the clock — or come straight to the hospital. Do not use the enquiry form: a call reaches someone immediately, a form does not.
